Welcome to Udhar Lo ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our services.

By downloading or using the Udhar Lo app, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

To provide a smooth khata and ledger management experience, Udhar Lo may access or collect the following types of information:

• Profile & Business Information: Name, phone number, business/shop name, address, business category, and UPI ID (provided voluntarily by you).
• Khata & Transaction Records: Customer names, transaction amounts, debit/credit entries, bill notes, due dates, voice transaction logs, and stock/inventory items.
• Device Contacts (Optional Permission): When you choose to add a customer from your address book, the app accesses contact names and phone numbers solely to populate ledger entries. Contact data is never uploaded to third-party marketing servers.
• Camera & Storage / Media (Optional Permission): To attach receipts, product images, invoice bills, QR codes, or business logos to entries and export PDF statements.
• Google Account Information (Optional): If you choose to enable cloud backup, we access your basic Google Profile (email address and name) and Google Drive scope to backup and restore your encrypted database files.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected strictly for app functionality:

• To manage credit (Gave / Diya) and debit (Got / Liya) balances.
• To generate and export PDF ledger statements, invoices, and visiting cards.
• To enable WhatsApp and SMS payment reminders to customers.
• To allow optional cloud backup and restore via your personal Google Drive account.
• To provide voice-assisted transaction entry processing.
• To verify in-app security with app PIN / Biometric authentication.

4. Data Storage and Security

Offline Local Storage: All transactions, contacts, inventory, and ledger books are stored directly on your device inside an offline SQLite database. Your private financial data remains under your full control.

Cloud Backup (Google Drive): Cloud backup is 100% user-initiated. When you click "Backup to Google Drive", the backup archive is uploaded directly to your own private Google Drive storage space. We do not host your transaction data on external central servers.

Security Measures: We implement industry-standard encryption, App PIN protection, and secure OAuth 2.0 authentication protocols to protect your data.

5. Permissions Required by the App

• READ_CONTACTS: Allows easy selection of customers from your contact list without manual typing.
• CAMERA & READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: To capture receipt photos, bill attachments, and save PDF reports to device storage.
• INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Required for optional Google Drive backup sync and online updates.
• USE_BIOMETRIC / USE_FINGERPRINT: To lock and unlock the app using your device's fingerprint or face unlock.

6. Third-Party Services

The app integrates with trusted third-party service providers:

• Google Play Services: Core application services and app updates.
• Google Sign-In & Google Drive API: For secure authentication and user-managed cloud backups.
• Firebase Core: For basic app health and performance monitoring.

7. Data Retention and Account Deletion

Since your primary data is stored locally on your device, deleting the application or clearing app data instantly deletes all local records. If you have created Google Drive backups and wish to remove them, you can delete the backup folder directly from your Google Drive account or follow our Account & Data Deletion Guide.

8. Children's Privacy

Udhar Lo is designed for businesses, shopkeepers, and individual bookkeeping and is not directed towards children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any updates will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
